He was predeceased by: his parents, Thurston Taylor and Ethel Carr Taylor; his grandparents, Linwood Taylor and Myrtle Little Taylor; and his siblings, Delois Taylor Turnage, Edro Taylor, Marvin Taylor, Jessie Taylor, Johnny Taylor, Elmer Taylor, Thurston Taylor, Jr. and William Stancil.
He is survived by: his wife Dolores Williams Taylor; his stepson Thomas Suggs (Dorothy) of Greenville, NC; his stepgrandchildren, Darkeisha Suggs of Raleigh, NC and Courtney Suggs of Ayden, NC; his great grandchild Courtney Suggs, Jr. of Greenville, NC; his brother James Taylor (Sylvia) of Connecticut; his sisters-in-law, Manilyn Taylor of Greenville, NC and Betty Jean Rouse of Grifton, NC; his nieces, Gloria Tyson and DeeDee Cannon; and his caregivers, Tonya Nelson Hester of Greenville, NC, V. A. and Ayanna Whitfield of Kinston, NC.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
