She was predeceased by: her parents, William "Bud" Greene and Eula Greene of Pitt County; her brother Frank Greene; and her husband James "Tom" Stokes. She is survived by: her children, Pansy Vernon (Dwight), Teresa Wooles (Mark) and Jeffrey Stokes (Lisa); her granddaughters, Reiko Ingram (Steve), Dare Blalock (Philip), Jamie Wooles and Sydney Franks (Jeremy); and her sister JoAnn Stancil. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Pinewood Memorial Park (4150 E 10th St, Greenville, NC 27858).
