He was predeceased by: his parents, William Harrell and Mildred Harrell; his wife Grace Harrell; and his brothers, Tommy, Jerry and David Harrell.
He is survived by: his son James Harrell, Jr. (Sheila) of Greenville; his grandchildren, Harley, Scarlett Harrell, Ricky Smith, Haley Wishall and Asia Vincent; and his brother William Andrew "Jason" Harrell, Jr.. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
