She was predeceased by: her parents, Ivey Smith and Alice Smith Walston; her son Lonnie "Carson" Griffin, Jr.; and her siblings, Brenda Faye Smith Parrish and David Earl Smith.
She is survived by: her grandson Lonnie Alton Griffin (Jessica); and her sibling's children, David Parrish (Nikki), Samuel Smith and Glenda Darlene Smith Hobgood (John).
Visitation was held on Monday, December 1st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Smith Funeral Service & Crematory (605 Country Club Dr, Greenville, NC 27834). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
