It is with sadness that the passing of Marvin Silverthorne (Greenville, North Carolina) is shared. Marvin, born on September 1, 1943 in Beaufort, North Carolina, passed away on September 14, 2026. He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Thimothy Silverthorne and Laura Mae Turnage; his son Timothy Silverthorne; and his siblings, Mary Jo Williams and Tommy Silverthorne.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Manning Silverthorne; his children, Michael Silverthorne (Jennette) and Ann Baynor (Jimmy); his grandsons, Timothy John Croom and Matthew Tyler Silverthorne; and his stepgrandchildren, Chelsea, Braxton Gardner, Chase, Colleen Baynor, Chaleigh and Michael Asby. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; and many, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wilkerson Funeral Home (2100 E 5th St #3001, Greenville, NC 27858). A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Pinewood Memorial Park (4150 E 10th St, Greenville, NC 27858).
