He was predeceased by : his wife Phylise Ritchie. He is survived by : his children, Michele Alexander of Cary, NC, Melissa Lawrance of Hertford, NC and Jeff Ritchie of New Bern, NC; and his grandchildren, Darian Dominiak, Hayden Ritchie and Christopher Ritchie.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Cotten Funeral Home (2201 Neuse Blvd, New Bern, NC 28560). The military honors was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Greenleaf Memorial Park Cemetery (900 River Rd, Trent Woods, NC 28562).

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
