It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernon Ray Brown (Greenville, North Carolina), who passed away on December 7, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Judge Lee Brown and Helen Hopkins Brown; and his siblings, Gloristeen Brown, Roy M. Brown and Patricia A. Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Christine Brown of Robersonville, NC; his children, Debra Ebron (Hyman) of Greenville, NC, Mary Everette of Greenville, NC, Eddie Acklin (Jacqueline) of Williamston, NC, Stewart Acklin (Takeisha) of Chocowinity, NC, Jessica Brown of Robersonville, NC and Erica of Virginia; and his siblings, Judge Brown, Jr. of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Alice M. Howard of Brooklyn, NYC, Helen R. Bullock (Dan) of Greenville, NC, Robert E. Brown (Minnie) of Bethel, NC and Clarence Brown of Aurora, Colorado. He is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Congleton Funeral Home and Cremations (3205 E 10th St, Greenville, NC 27858). A celebration of life was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
