He was predeceased by : his parents, William Casper and Louise Johnson Eakes; and his siblings, James Harold Eakes, Sr., Mary Eakes and Holloman.

He is survived by : his wife Terri Eakes; his son Brad Eakes (Melissa) of Ayden; and his grandchildren, Grayson and Anna Brooks Eakes. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Ormondsville Original Free Will Baptist Church (3745 Ormondsville Rd, Ayden, NC 28513).
