With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Helen Savage Pilkington (Grifton, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 1, 2026 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Hubert Bass and Trudie Mae Denning Bass; her husbands, Joshua Joseph Glenn Savage and Clifton Jack Pilkington; her brothers, Charles Lynwood Bass and James Merle Bass; her son Timothy Jay Savage; her son-in-law Kenneth Robert Castania, Jr.; and her grandson Cody Pilkington.
She is survived by: her children, Mark Glenn Savage (Ann) of Grantsboro, NC and Marsha Savage Castania of New Bern, NC; her brother John Edwin Bass (Barbara) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and her children, Debi Pilkington Odham (Mack) of Leland, NC, Jackie Pilkington Patterson (Russ) of Lincolnton, NC, Lana Pilkington Bass (Charlie) of Grifton, NC, Bobbi Lynn Pilkington of Grifton, NC and Clifton Ivey Pilkington (April) of Washington, NC. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
