We announce the death of Mainor Lee Sawyer of Grifton, North Carolina, who passed away on October 17, 2026, at the age of 74. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dexter James and Myrtie Brown James; and her siblings, Joseph James, Anna Margaret Cribb, Willis James and D. L. James.

She is survived by: her husband Harold Wayne Sawyer; her children, Kenneth Franklin Sawyer (Tina) of Raleigh and Kristen Sawyer Metcalf (MI) of Farmington Hills; her grandchildren, Lauren Bryce, Alexandra and Emerson; and her siblings, Eloise Register of Wallace, Dorothy Wells of Wallace and Jesse James of Rocky Point.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM and on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Plymouth Church of God (107 Truman Ave, Plymouth, NC 27962). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial contributions be made to the Plymouth Church of God.
