He was predeceased by: his parents, Gabriel Paul Carr and Gladys Lee Sweatt Carr; his sister Joy Carr Barrett; his sister-in-law Rebecca Lee Edwards Schaefer; and his nephew Joseph Comer Barrett IV.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Relfe Edwards Carr; his children, Elizabeth Relfe Carr Nager (Bailey), Jonathan Paul Carr (Susan) and Markham Lee Carr (Mercedes); his grandchildren, Adams Gabriel Bailey (Hilary), Charles Keaton Carr Nager, Bryson Paul Carr Nager, Ella Lee Carr, Paul Waters Carr, Mercedes Joy Carr and Henry Paul Bransfield Carr; his great grandchild Elliot Adams Bailey; his brothers-in-law, Brian Edward Schaefer and Joseph Comer Barrett III; his nieces, Eleanor Schaefer Johnson (Joel), Jillian Relfe Schaefer and Lee Barrett Wilpon (Bruce); his nephew Paul Carr Barrett (Sabine); his great-niece Zoe Joy Wilpon; and his great-nephew Grady Johnson.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, August 18th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Pullen Memorial Baptist Church (1801 Hillsborough St, Raleigh, NC 27605).
