She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Hayes and Ella Bean Hayes; her son Little Johnny; and her siblings, Richard Hayes, Clifford Hayes, Edith Jacobs and Beatrice Heaton.
She is survived by: her husband Johnny; her children, Windy Peele and Danny Ray Peele (Darlene); her grandchildren, Tomy Leviner (Stacey), Amanda Baker (Robert), Adrian Fisher (Harold), Joshua Peele (Amber), Brittany King and Travis King; and her siblings, Mary Allen and Dannie Hayes (Rose). She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home (705 S Caroline St, Rockingham, NC 28379). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Hopewell Independent Baptist Church.
