He is survived by: his children, Dawn Peele Woodard (Audie) of Laurinburg and Joe Thomas Peele, Jr. of Hamlet; his grandchildren, Seth Watson (Page) of Hamlet, Luke Woodard of Laurinburg, Elizabeth Peele Lee (Chris) of Bennettsville, SC, Audrea Pevey of Laurinburg, Sophia Pevey of Laurinburg and Rylynee Gibson of Laurinburg; his great grandchild Madilynn Page Watson of Hamlet; and his siblings, Harold Peele (Patsy) of Laurinburg, Doris Morton of Laurinburg and Ruby Carnahan of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
