She was predeceased by: her parents, Catherine Batts and Henry Dunn Lanier. She is survived by: her siblings, Ruby Grace, Vernice, Curtis, Carlo, David and Joe Lanier; her husband Lonnie Sholar; her children, Johnny Nethercutt (Virginia) and Donna Smith (Rickey); her grandson Christopher Canuel (Meredith); her great grandchildren, Jason, Noah, Caleb, Amelia, Sarah Grace, David, Hannah, Joshua, Elijah and Abigail; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Smith (Kimberly) and Kayla Kowalski (Alex); her great grandchildren, Connor Smith, Charlie Mae and Parker Kowalski; her brothers, Hardy and Poley Lanier; and her caregiver Joni Kane. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.
She took great pride in her profession as a hairdresser and humbly served her customers for 62 years until the Covid pandemic led her to roll her final perm.
