He was predeceased by : his parents, James William Furr and Nora Elizabeth James Furr. He is survived by : his siblings, Jack Furr (Rhonda Lewis), William James, Milton Samuel James, Nora Vaughan and Faye Willhite; his aunt Mary Atkinson; and his nieces and nephews, Cindy Willhite, Monica James, Macy Raye Furr, Sandy Vaughan, Ronald Jack Furr, Kennedy Smith and Bobby Vaughan.

A memorial service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Quinn McGowen Funeral Home - Wilmington (315 Willow Woods Dr, Wilmington, NC 28409).
