He was predeceased by: his parents, John Vara and Anita Vara. He is survived by: his wife Christine Vara (Geisler); his daughters, Jessica Chavez (Josh), Samantha Vara, Marissa Silman (Taylor), Danielle Vara (Andrew Feld) and Grace Vara; his sisters, Mary Beth Masur (Keith) and Teresa Conklin (Tim); and his cousin Mary Eileen Johnson (Shon). He is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews.
