He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hinshaw and Martha Hinshaw; his former wife Patricia Arsenault Hinshaw; and his siblings, Johnny Hinshaw, Phil Hinshaw and Mary Martha Hinshaw.
He is survived by: his fiancée Nancy Cooke; his daughters, Desi McAlister (Ernie) of Surf City, Dawn Greene (Michael) of Holly Ridge and Debbie Seal of Hampstead; his grandchildren, Erica Varnedoe (Lee), Michael Leitner, Tori Whitley (Chad), Matt Griffitts, Taylor Pennisi (Ben) and Jordan Greene; his great grandchildren, Dean Whitley, Brandt Varnedoe, Carter and Ellis Pennisi; and his siblings, Regina Howard of Texas, Matt Hinshaw of High Point and Andy Hinshaw of Greensboro.
