He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Jerry Phillips and Helen Irene Summers. He is survived by: his wife Doris Phillips (Joye); his children, Robert Phillips (Karen), Timothy Phillips (Heather) and Kelly Phillips Erb (Chris); and his friend James Gerock (Debbie). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Winter Park Baptist Church (4700 Wrightsville Ave, Wilmington, NC 28401). A memorial service was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
