She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Winters and Opal Hanes Winters; her husband Denzel Gerald Adkins; her son Denzel Adkins; and her brothers, Jay Lee Winters and Charles "Bud" Winters.
She is survived by: her children, Johnny Adkins (Kathy), David Adkins, Eddie Adkins and Melissa Vaughn (Matthew); her grandchildren, Maegan Cline, Jennifer Roberts, Kimberly Whitaker, Amber Adkins, Cameron Renegar, Hailie Adams and Denzel Adkins; and her sisters, Doris Brown, Brenda Buelin, Sharon Childress and Bobbie Sue Inscore. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Fall Creek Baptist Church (3345 Fall Creek Church Rd, Jonesville, NC 28642).
