He is survived by: his wife Margie Benge Strang of Harmony; his children, Idoma Barton (Chris) of Troutman and Walter Gerald Strang (Brandie) of Hamptonville; his grandchildren, Jonathan Brooks, Byron Strang, Kayla Cortes, Harley Stewart and Kristen Strang; and his daughter Margie Benge StrangWife. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home (705 Davie Ave, Statesville, NC 28677). The military honors will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Iredell Memorial Gardens.
