He was predeceased by: his grandfather James Gourley Howie; and his great-grandparent Margret Harris Quay. He is survived by: his parents, Alan Auten and Cornelia Auten; his grandparents, Bonnie Quay Howie, Grady Auten and Nancy Whitehurst; his aunts, Leslie McCorkle (Gary), Anna Radford (Dwight) and Amy Conley (Rich); his uncle Gary Auten (Rita); and his cousin Evan McCorkle (Kestrel).
