He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest J. Herring (Big Apple) and Edith Neal Herring; his siblings, Cherry Dale Everly and George F. Herring; his great grandchild SJ Cantie; his father-in-law Palmer Wiley; and his brother-in-law Jack Preston.
He is survived by: his wife Dana Darland; his children, Marc Herring (Nikki), Matthew C. Herring and Michelle Herring Putnam (Jason); his grandchildren, Macie Campbell Lescak (Dillion), Sydney Campbell Cantie (Spencer), Natalie J. Herring, Max Herring and Matthew C. Steele; his great grandchildren, Aurora J. Lescak (AJ), Salem N. Lescak, Logan M. Cantie and Raelynn B. Cantie; his sisters, Rita Ann Robinson (Gilbert) and Judy G. Preston; and his mother-in-law Juanita Wiley.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care - Locust (501 N Central Ave, Locust, NC 28097). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers monetary donations are being accepted for assistance with funeral expenses.
