We announce the death of Lucy Snead Willis in Hatteras, North Carolina, who passed away on October 22, 2026, at the age of 87. Lucy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Lucy will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Lucy will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Lucy’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin Festus and Ida Allen Snead; her husband Harmon "HJ" Willis; and her grandson Dusty Willis. She is survived by: her sons, Tony (Michelle), Johnny (Sherry) and Durwood (Joy); and her sister Faye Smith. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 14th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Hatteras Assembly of God (57343 Eagle Pass Rd, Hatteras, NC 27953).
