It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ellen Styron Goodwin (Havelock, North Carolina), born in Beaufort, North Carolina, who passed away on February 18, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Samuel Styron; her husband Jimmie Goodwin Sr.; and her siblings, Winnie Goodwin, Donald Styron and Bennie Styron.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Ellen Goodwin (Nora Adams) of Wilmington, Betty Goodwin Smith (Bryon) of Jacksonville and Jimmie Carol Goodwin Jr. (Becky) of Cedar Island; her siblings, Caldonia "Cad" Gaskill of Cedar Island, Janet Lee Fulcher of Beaufort, Blondie Goodwin of Cedar Island and Richard Styron (Joann) of Cedar Island; her grandchildren, Scott Goodwin (Ashlyn) of Davis, Samuel Goodwin of Cedar Island, Garrett Smith of Jacksonville, Nathan Smith (Allie) of Wake Forest and Noel Goodwin Palacios of Ocracoke; her great grandchildren, Mackenzie Goodwin and Hudson Smith; her aunts, Jennifer and Clarice; her cousin Cindy; and her aunt Blondie. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
