He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Clifton Johnson and Mary Evelyn Brown Johnson; his brother Michael Stephen Johnson; his daughter-in-law Valerie J. Johnson; and his nephews, Michael Stephen Johnson, Jr. and Robert David Parsons.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Capps Johnson of Peletier, NC; his children, Letitia "Tish" Johnson Grey of Arizona and John Anthony Johnson of Smithfield, NC; his sisters, Rebecca Lynn Johnson of Goldsboro, NC, Barbara Johnson Parsons of Morehead City, NC and Phyllis Johnson Barbour (DeVan); his granddaughters, Olivia Grey of Arizona and Layla Johnson of Smithfield, NC; his mother-in-law Anna Hudson of Erwin, NC; and his nephew Kevin Douglas Parsons (Samantha) of Charlotte, NC.. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law.
