He was predeceased by: his father Otis B. Culpepper; his son Joseph "Joey" Earl Culpepper Jr.; and his siblings, Mary Chadwick, Lena May Locklear, Baby Henry, Otis Culpepper Jr., Nick Culpepper, Billy Culpepper of Ben Culpepper, R. L and Jessie Monroe Culpepper.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Avery Culpepper; his daughter Lisa Culpepper (Donnie Lewis) of Mill Creek; his siblings, Sadie Cribb of Newport and Charles "Piggy" Culpepper of Newport; his daughter-in-law Sharon Culpepper; his grandchildren, Joseph Austin Knowles of Mill Creek, Joshua Aaron Knowles of Mill Creek, Joseph Culpepper III of Mill Creek, Casey James Culpepper of Mill Creek, Elizabeth Culpepper Laster (Adam) of Clover, SC and Amy Fultz (Nathaniel) of Mill Creek; and his great grandchildren, Jak, Everleigh, June, Ryker, Selina, Heidi, Nathaniel, Chase, Jordan, Adriana, Nathaniel Jr., Noah, Christian, Hannah and Lindsay. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
