He was predeceased by: his father George Dettman. He is survived by: his wife Tsuyako Dettman; his children, George D. Dettman of Chesapeake, Virginia, Carol Stubbs (Trawick) of New Bern and Sandy Mercer (David) of Babson Park, Florida; and his siblings, Ruth Dettman of Dallas, Barbara Sanchez of New Jersey and Peter Brooks of New Jersey. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
