He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Julian Scott and Minnie Clara Martin Robertson; his son Alton Smith; and his brother Eldridge Scott Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Yvette Scott; his children, Wayne Scott Jr. (Amy), Randy Ellington (Christy), Avery Montgomery (Carolina), Ian Montgomery (Caitlin) and Hillary Montgomery (Mike); his siblings, Connie Hall (George) and Julian Robertson (Patricia); and his pet Ariel. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, 5 nieces, and one nephew, extended family members, and dear friends.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel (2205 S Church St, Burlington, NC 27215).
