He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennis Arthur and Eleanor McGinnis. He is survived by: his wife Sandy Jersey McGinnis; his daughters, Kelleen McGinnis Lonergan (Brian) of Frederick and Kathryn Jo McGinnis of Winner, S. D.; his grandchildren, Shannon, Ryan Scott, Caitlin, Aidan Lonergan and Sophia Wannop; his niece Colleen (Bob Pontello); and his nephews, Rick (Sue), Dennis (Kim), Mike (Amy) and Kevin Gilbert (Jessica).
A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church (1433 US-64, Hayesville, NC 28904). A burial was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at the American Legion Post #96.
