He is survived by: his wife Leonia "Sissie Carringer" Penland; his children, Jarrod Penland (Sandy) of Hayesville and Jadrian Penland Neumann (Cody) of Hayesville; his stepchildren, Thomas Wood (Aja) of Warne, NC, Tiffany Wood of Morganton, NC and Tabitha Norman of Hayesville, NC; his brothers, David Penland (Anna Dean) of Hiawassee, GA and Dale Penland (Mirle) of Hiawassee, GA; his sisters-in-law, Joyce Penland of Hiawassee, GA and Wylene Penland of Hiawassee, GA; his grandchildren, Carson Penland and Aubree English; his stepgrandchildren, Dylan Brown, Corey Brown, Taylor Brown, Caira Bell, Evana Bell, Harleigh Bell, Presley Wood, Sunnie Anderson and Axyl Anderson; and his grandchildren, Calvin and Cade Neumann.
