He was predeceased by: his parents, James Otho Long and Diccie Melvina Vinson Long; his sister Lelah Simmerman; and his stepson Michael Burke. He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Marge" Long of Hayesville; his sons, James (Julie Long) and Jeff (Rosie Long); his stepdaughter Jeanette Crawford of Hayesville; his brother David; and his sister-in-law Lavon Long of Batesville, Arkansas. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
