He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Sams and Anna Belle Coker Sams; and his brothers, Leon Sams and Bob Sams. He is survived by: his wife Janet Holden Sams; his son Dan Sams (Becky) of Hiawassee, GA; his stepson Rodney Ashe of Hayesville, NC; his grandchildren, Michael Sams of Hayesville, NC, Karley Reynolds (Taylor) of Hayesville, NC and Kristen Ashe of Hayesville, NC; and his great grandchildren, Jaxson Cole Reynolds, Kinsley Grace Reynolds and Cameron Chase Reynolds.
