He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald D. Burrell and Fannie Mae Patton Burrell; his wife Helen "Bernice" Whitaker Burrell; his siblings, Dick Burrell, Tommy Burrell, Andrew Burrell, Wanda Watkins and Doris Collins; and his granddaughter Rachael Burrell.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Bright (Stephanie), Tammy Gregg (Brian) and Michelle Burrell; his siblings, Johnny Burrell, Kenny Burrell, Bobby Burrell, Clara Moss, Geraldine Lockaby, Francis Wilson and Shirley Chastain; his grandchildren, Jessica Henderson (Ethan), Zachary Gregg (Rebekah), Adam Watkins (Emily), Autumn Bright (Gabriel) and Madison Bright; and his great grandchildren, Gabriel Watkins, Harper Henderson, Hadley Henderson, Samantha Gregg and Samuel Gregg.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mission Hill Baptist Church (115 Mission Hill Rd, Hayesville, NC 28904). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
