It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Glenda Mae Shumate Foreman of Hays, North Carolina, who passed away on May 24, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Mae Collins Shumate; and her sisters, Nancy Gambill and Rita Huie. She is survived by: her children, Jonathan Foreman (April) of Hays and Stephanie Lunsford (Keith) of Wilkesboro; her grandchildren, Tatum Foreman, Justin Hall of Hays, Kassidie Foreman, Dylan Deskins of Hays, Zoey Foreman, Daniel Russell of Hays and Zachary Lunsford of Boone; and her siblings, C. M. Shumate (Lois Ann) of Mulberry, James Shumate (Linda) of Pilot Mtn, Rod Shumate of North Wilkesboro, Jeff Shumate of Georgia, Sue Johnson (Perry) of Mulberry and Becky Anderson (David) of Raleigh. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Center Baptist Church (205 Center Baptist Church Rd, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Center Baptist Church Cemetery (205 Center Baptist Church Rd, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659).
