With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jay Watkins of Hays, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 5, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Iredell Theodore and Walcie Adams Watkins; his son Jay Kyle Watkins II; his brother Robert Watkins; and his sister-in-law Virginia Green Watkins.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Watkins Williams; his son Richard Atkinson; his sibling's children, Robert Watkins (Teresa) of Hays, NC, Randy Watkins of Hays, NC and Sharon Eldridge; and his cousins, Josephine Dickey, Doug Billings and Mike Billings.
