He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hunter and Prudie Hawkins Roope. He is survived by: his sister Peggy Redmon (Ray) of Hays; his niece Heather Redmon Byrd (Rodney) of North Wilkesboro; his great-nieces, Ashton Adams (Grant) of North Wilkesboro and Madison Wood of North Wilkesboro; his great-nephew Cameron Byrd of North Wilkesboro; Levi and Chandler of North Wilkesboro.
