She was predeceased by: her parents, Bruce "Dub" Roope and Zear Johnson Roope; her husband Richard "Dick" Wood; her son-in-law Danny Newman; her brother Colen Roope; and her sister-in-law Ann Roope.
She is survived by: her children, Kim Newman of North Wilkesboro and Scott Wood (Star) of Roaring River; her sister Rdean Matherly (Wayne) of North Wilkesboro; her grandchildren, Zach Newman (Lauren) of Candler, Laura Newman Davis (Zack) of Winston Salem, Kristen Wood Metz of Roaring River, Erica Wood Saunders (Kevin) of Ophir and Angela Wood Schaad (Nick); and her great grandchildren, Hudson, Porter, Saylor Newman, Harper Davis, Connor, Henry Metz, Alfred, Charlie Saunders, Owen and Doris Schaad.
