It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ava Bowes Slater of Henderson, North Carolina, who passed away on December 21, 2023, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Loretta Jensen Bowes and Fred Avon Bowes; her husband Michael Edward Slater; and her brother Freddy Bowes. She is survived by : her daughters, Kelly Smith of Raleigh and Wendy Morales of Henderson; and her sister Susan Bowes.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Autism Society of North Carolina, 5121 Kingdom Way #100, Raleigh, NC 27607.
