She was predeceased by: her parents, Eloise Carey Knight and James L. Knight; her husband Lawrence Howard "Cotton" Clayton; and her son Michael J. Clayton. She is survived by: her children, Deborah C. "Debbie" Capps of Raleigh, Lawrence H. "Larry" Clayton, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA and Randall C. "Randy" Clayton (Christine "Christy") of Apex; her grandsons, Davis O'Neil Clayton, Gray Michael Clayton and Wade Edward Clayton; and her siblings, Teresa K. Parham (David), James L. Knight, Jr. (Sheila) and William H. Knight (Laurie).
