He is survived by: his son Jeremy Scott Franklin of Lexington, VA; and his siblings, Samuel Franklin, Jr. (Sheila) of Henderson, Joseph Franklin (Susan) of Travelers Rest, SC, Diana Minta (Steve) of Pawleys Island, SC and Ruth Murphy (David) of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
