He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Autry Pitman and Rev. Lee Jim Pitman; and his sister Roma Jones. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Thomas Pitman; his children, Teresa P. Harris (Ricky) of Henderson, David Ernest Pitman, Jr. (Kimberly) of Henderson and Jeffrey Thomas Pitman (Yuki) of Fort Mill, SC; his grandchildren, Brandon Harris (Samantha), Cassie Hoy (Caleb), Jonathan Edwards, Walker Pitman, Miku Pitman, Arabella Pitman, Ai Pitman, Riyo Pitman and Misa Lou Pitman; his great grandchild Hunter Harris; his sisters, Betty Hite (Terry) of Clarksville, VA, Patti Hite (Edward) of Clarksville, VA, Bev Candler of Yuma, AZ and Evelyn Dickerson of Henderson; and his nephews, Jonathan Thomas, Edward Hite and Terry Hite. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
