Dexter left this world on May 5, 2026 at the age of 85, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jolly Stephens and Ella Stephens; and his siblings, Larry Stephens and Norma Stephens. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Stephens; his children, Darrell Eaton, Sr. (Tiffany), DiNina Napper (Daryl, Sr.), LaMesha Brock (Luther III) and Sharon Stephens; his grandchildren, Daryl, Jr., DeQuan, Daniel, Luther IV, Christian, Darrell, Jr., Jalil, Taj, Destiny N., Destini S., Lakira, Shamyah and Maekayla; his great grandchildren, Delano, Alani and Nadia; and his siblings, Gerald Stephens and Fail Trollinger (John). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Dexter was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Henderson, where he was respectfully known for teaching Sunday School and videotaping church events before the pandemic. After COVID, he attended church virtually and often shared heartfelt messages with family and friends.
