Floyd Collins Obituary
Mr. Floyd Collins, 86, of Henderson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on August 31, 1938 in Horry County, South Carolina to the late George Cleveland Collins and Mary Johnson Collins.
In addition to his parents, Floyd is preceded in death by his sisters, Arlene Fryar and Helen Collins as well as his brothers, George Collins and David Collins.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife Connie Smith Collins; his two sons, Floyd Steven Collins (Renee) and Blaine Keith Collins (Lynda); grandchildren, Floyd Steven Collins Jr., Anthony Collins (Maggie), Ashley Collins, Tyson Keith Collins, and Tabitha Nicole Morris (Zack); great-grandchildren, Angel Morgan, Abby Collins, Ellie-Kate Collins, Evie Collins, Christian Collins, Carter Collins, Hallie Collins and Jace Morris; his brother, Maxie Collins (Jennifer); sisters, Faye Winningham, Kaye DuBose (Emmitt), Marie Richardson (Buddy), Edie Wall, Bobbie Jean Martin, Nora Dyson (Ray), and Mary Joye (Richard), as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Floyd was an extraordinary husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He retired from Harriett & Henderson Yarns, Inc. with over thirty years of service. He was also a family farmer during those thirty years and beyond after retirement. Floyd enjoyed working so after retiring from Harriett & Henderson Yarns, he started to work with the Franklin County Public School System in the cafeteria. He loved this job so much as he got to see the children each day. Floyd was a member of Corinth Baptist Church for over 30 years. He was married to the love of his life Connie, and they shared so many wonderful events and memories over the years together.
Floyd was an avid gardener. He loved taking care of his garden, being outside and fishing. Floyd was a family man who adored his children and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved listening to classic country music and some of his favorites were George Jones and Conway Twitty. He spent many afternoons and evenings going to baseball games and events with his grandchildren. Floyd loved his horses, and he enjoyed horseback riding. He also loved to go camping and enjoyed spending time with his family at the lake. Floyd will be missed tremendously by his friends and family.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 10:00am at Corinth Baptist Church, 4582 US-401, Louisburg, NC 27549 and will be officiated by Rev. Seth Kuykendall. Burial to immediately follow at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends and visitors after the burial inside the fellowship hall of the church. Flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions may be given to Corinth Baptist Church in Floyd's memory.
Funeral Services have been entrusted to Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services of Louisburg.
