Francis Herbert Madigan Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Francis Herbert Madigan (Henderson, North Carolina), born in San Diego, California, who passed away on November 2, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Joseph Madigan and Dorothy Rebecca Higdon Madigan; his wife Barbara Jean Moore Madigan; his brothers, Captain James A. Madigan (Geraldine) and Thomas J. Madigan; his siblings-in-law, Thomas C. Moore, Jr. (Wayne) and Katherine Moore; and his nieces, Ashley Mogilniki and Debbie Madigan Goode.
He is survived by: his children, David F. Madigan (Trisha) of Cardinal, Tracy S. Madigan of Henderson, NC and Paul J. Madigan (Emilie) of Murfreesboro, TN.; his grandchild Ali Madigan Boland (Zach) of Mooresville; his great grandchildren, Chase Boland, Briggs Boland, Sutton Madigan, Elsie Madigan and Mary Allen Claire Madigan; and his sisters-in-law, Pamela Madigan Hopper (Alvis) and Jean Shoepe. He is also survived by his wife, three children, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Episcopal Church (210 S Chestnut St, Henderson, NC 27536). The inurnment was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Memorial Garden Columbarium Behind the Church. A reception was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 3:15 PM at the Henderson Country Club (300 Country Club Dr, Henderson, NC 27536).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Holy Innocents or the Vance-Granville Community College Endowment Fund.
