She was predeceased by: her parents, Jodie Mosley Edwards and Willie Joe Edwards; her husband Morris Rowland Abbott, Sr.; and her siblings, Christine Askew, Emily Edwards, Willie "Bud" Edwards, Bob Edwards and Jim Edwards.
She is survived by: her children, Morris R. "Sam" Abbott, Jr. (Kathy), Marcus Abbott of Henderson and Olivia A. Gresham (Steve) of Henderson; her grandchildren, Jason Abbott, Joanna Nies, Christian Coghill and Camden Gresham; and her great grandchildren, Karley Nies and John Abbott.
In lieu of food and flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Unity Baptist Church, C/O Kathy Abbott, 310 Rock Mill Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
