She was predeceased by: her parents, John Redmond and Myrtle Ward Redmond; and her husband Vance Grady Stepp. She is survived by: her daughter Gayle Stepp Merrell of Hendersonville, NC; her grandsons, Dr. Stephen Merrell (Shalini Maharaj), Dr. Joshua Merrell (Betsy Merrell), Dr. David Merrell (Jill Merrell) and Dr. Matthew Merrell (Ryan Harmon); and her great grandchildren, Evelyn Merrell, Mitchell Merrell, Sophia Merrell and Luke Merrell.
