Hilliard Thurman Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Hilliard Thurman (Henderson, North Carolina), who passed away on March 21, 2022 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ida Wynne Hilliard and Palmer Lee Hilliard; and his siblings, Rosa Hilliard, Elsie Hilliard, Alice H. Weaver and Fred Hilliard.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Dunn Hilliard; his son Milton Palmer Hilliard (Christie) of Hillsborough; his granddaughters, Emily and Becca; his siblings, Ruby Cifers of Kittrell, Peggy Nickels (David) of Kittrell, Arthur Hilliard of Henderson, Lawrence Hilliard of Henderson, Robert Hilliard (Betty) of Henderson and Tom Hilliard (Diane) of Henderson; and his close friends, Felcie and Wilton Short of Henderson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Camp Carefree (275 Carefree Ln, Stokesdale, NC 27357), a camp for children with special needs, which is near and dear to the Hilliard Family.
