He is survived by: his wife Jane Pearce Pernell; his children, Linda Jo Taylor (Travis), Mandy Boykin, Caitlen Edge (Mark), Alyssa Roberson Pernell and Jackson Hughes (Vanessa); his grandchildren, Jonathan Boykin, Hannah Hypes, Jillian Taylor, Silas Taylor, Elizabeth Edge, John Edge, Jada Hughes, Jacob Hughes, Taylor Hughes and Sydney Allen; his great grandchildren, Emory Smith and Caden Pollock; and his brothers, Dale Pernell (Teresa) and Clay Pernell (Ronna). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and other extended family.
