He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse James Stem, Sr. and Lena Blanch Wade Stem; and his wife Vallie Owen Stem. He is survived by: his daughter Susan Holtzman (Charles) of Henderson; his grandchildren, Justin Holtzman (Jamie) of Manson, Kyle Holtzman (Deborah Leigh) of Henderson and Jill Perkinson (Brad) of Henderson; his great grandchildren, Mackenzie Holtzman, Natalie Holtzman, Piper Holtzman, Lena Holtzman, Kyleigh Holtzman, Carley Holtzman, Emory Perkinson, Anderson Perkinson and Owen Perkinson; and his siblings, William "Willie Jack" Stem (Shirley) of Oxford, Norma Kay Stem Lewis of Rocky Mount and Margaet Mooneyhan of Raleigh.
