It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Calvin Brodie Jr. (Henderson, North Carolina), who passed away on November 3, 2025, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the vast expanse of eternity, Joseph shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Joseph farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Mattie Johnson Brighthart and Joseph Calvin Brodie Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Marcie Freeman Brodie; his children, Keontae Brodie and Kenise Brodie; and his siblings, Barbara Brodie Smith, Shelia Wilson, Jamie Brodie, Shafeqah Abdullah and Curtis Brodie.
Viewing will be held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Davis-Royster Funeral Service, Inc. (926 S Garnett St, Henderson, NC 27536). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Shiloh Baptist Church (635 S College St, Henderson, NC 27536).
